Clinical expertise with a broader perspective

Where appropriate, I offer a range of interventional pain procedures, including epidural injections; facet joint injections and radiofrequency treatment; peripheral nerve blocks and pulsed radiofrequency; and soft-tissue injections with local anaesthetic and steroid. I also perform other more specific injections and nerve blocks when clinically indicated. If you are unsure whether a particular procedure may be suitable, you are welcome to ask.

I also provide consultant anaesthesia for surgery and selected procedures, including private practice by arrangement.

Research & Education

Pain neuroscience, perception and the senses

My research and educational work explores how pain is shaped by the nervous system, perception, previous experience, context and the senses. I am particularly interested in how changing the way people understand and experience their body may open new possibilities for recovery and self-management.

I use pain neuroscience education, sensory approaches and experiential tools — including virtual reality and illusion-based strategies — to help people make sense of persistent pain in a practical and accessible way.
