Discuss a referral or ask about a pain case
I welcome enquiries from GPs, consultants, physiotherapists and other healthcare professionals who would like to discuss whether a patient may benefit from specialist pain assessment, a particular treatment or an interventional procedure.
You do not need to be certain that a referral is appropriate before contacting me. I am happy to help clarify whether I may be able to contribute, what type of assessment would be most useful, or whether another pathway may be more suitable.
I can advise on
- Persistent or complex pain requiring specialist assessment
- Suitability for epidural injections, facet joint injections or radiofrequency treatment
- Peripheral nerve blocks and pulsed radiofrequency
- Soft-tissue injections and other selected pain procedures
- Acupuncture and electroacupuncture where appropriate
- Pain neuroscience education and broader self-management approaches
- Medication review and multimodal pain-management planning
- Whether a private consultation may be useful before considering intervention
